Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We have answers. Here are some of the most common inquiries we receive from our future innovators and mentors.

For Students

Is there a cost for students to join?

No, our platform is completely free for students and recent graduates. Our mission is to provide opportunity, not barriers. We are supported by our industry partners and mentors.

What is the expected time commitment for a project?

Time commitments vary by project but are always clearly defined upfront. Typically, they range from 10–15 hours per week for a duration of 3–4 months, allowing you to manage it alongside other commitments.

How are students selected for projects?

Students apply for projects that interest them. Mentors and project leads then review applications based on skills, academic background, and a demonstrated passion for the project's mission.

For Mentors

What is the time commitment for a mentor?

We recommend mentors dedicate 2–4 hours per week. This typically includes one team check-in call and asynchronous support via our platform to provide feedback and guidance.

For Everyone

Who owns the Intellectual Property (IP) created in a project?

Our IP policy is designed to be fair and motivating. The specific terms are outlined in each project charter, but our standard model grants ownership to the student creators, with usage rights provided to the industry partner or mentor who sponsored the challenge.
